NCPAG launches 60th anniversary memorabilia items, AVP
The National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG) launched on Valentine’s Day three souvenir items: NCPAG anniversary sticker, car sticker, and postcard to celebrate its 60th founding anniversary. In a simple ceremony at the NCPAG Assembly Hall, Dean Edna Co presented the souvenir items, which apart from being markers of NCPAG’s diamond year, will also serve as an income-generating project for NCPAG’s anniversary activities. The items are available at the NCPAG Publications Office. Orders may be placed at telephone number 9261443.
The College held on the same occasion the first public screening of its audio-visual production (AVP). The ten-minute AVP presents the history of the College and its position as a leader of public administration and governance education in the country and in the Asian region, as well as its role in providing technical assistance, researches and capability-building programs to the government.
The anniversary memorabilia items and the AVP were launched before the holding of a forum on the “Basics of Public-Private Partnership” (PPP). The NCPAG is holding a series of public forums, beginning with the forum on 14 February 2012. Details of the forthcoming forums will be posted in the NCPAG website.
NCPAG wins Natatanging Belen Competition
The National College of Public Administration and Governance’s entry was judged as the first prize winner in this year’s Belen Making Contest. The result of the competition was announced on December 16, 2011 during the traditional lantern parade program.
NCPAG’s entry entitled Sabsaban sa Diliman appropriated two types of construction materials, which symbolize ideas and values that the college upholds and promotes. Wood was used as a symbol for strong foundation that good governance provides to the nation. Chicken wires on the other hand evoke the spirit of transparency that is necessary to fight corruption and other forms of bad governance.
The construction of the winning entry was spearheaded by the NCPAG Student Council. They received funding support from the NCPAG Alumni Association. This is the first time in many years that the NCPAG has won in this annual competition held in UP Diliman during holiday season. The NCPAG belen can be found at the lobby and will be there until January 2012.
